Why do I need to take a language proficiency test before training?

The oral language proficiency test is used by Liberty Language Services to help verify that a student is fluent enough to interpret for English and his/her target language(s). 

Liberty Language Services requires oral language proficiency testing for the following interpreter training courses: 

• The Professional Medical Interpreter (proficiency tests included in tuition price)
• Bridging the Gap (proficiency tests included in tuition price)

Students will receive their interpreter training certificate for English and their target language(s).
